Rovers boss Kean to keep Hoilett

Junior Hoilett is set to be the subject of a last ditch effort from Blackburn Rovers to retain his services, as interest from abroad hots up according to Sky Sports.

The out of contract attacker is widely rumoured to depart Ewood Park following the clubs relegation from the Premier League.

North London pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, though, are said to be among the potential suitors should the 21 year old remain in England.

Hoilett certainly isn't lacking in high profile admirers, with Champions League finalists Bayern Munich thought to be impressed by his performances.

Having featured more than 90 times for the Lancashire outfit, Sundays 2-1 defeat at Bayern Munich's final opponents Chelsea could be the Canadians final appearance in a Rovers shirt.

Blackburn boss, Steve Kean, hasn't given up on keeping hold of one of his star performers though, despite admitting: 'I don't think it is going to be just clubs in this country.

'I'm told that there is interest from abroad. I can understand why because he has had some great performances, not only this season, but the past couple of seasons.

'We'll make a last-ditch effort to put something in front of him. You never know.'

Hope is a fine thing, Rovers fans will have to hope that it isn't misguided.
