      The futures blue for Johnson

Manchester City winger, Adam Johnson, has admitted that he is frustrated at not playing as much as he would like for the Citizens, but is not angling for a move elsewhere according to Sky Sports.

Competing with the likes of David Silva and Samir Nasri was never going to be an easy task for the Wearsider, whilst squad rotation also means that first team appearances haven't been easy to come by.

Roberto Mancini isn't one for mincing his words, and has publicly criticised the Englishman in the past.

The 24 year old, though, has insisted that he isn't interested in reading transfer gossip and is happy to be Mancin's wingman, when called upon.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror he said: 'You always want to play more, but at big clubs there are probably only three or four players that are guaranteed to play every week.

'If you want to win trophies players will tell you it's all about the depth and strength of the squad.

'At the end of your career it's all about what you have won and who you played for.

'I love it at City and enjoy being part of this squad but it's frustrating when you train hard all week and you don't start a game.

The City number 11, who played 15 minutes against Wolves yesterday, also revealed that he thinks he has matured as a person.

'But I think I have grown up a lot and learnt to accept things more. I don't go about shouting my mouth off any more.

Keen to keep his feet on the ground, Johnson added: 'Besides, I don't take any notice of speculation... because that's all it is.'

The Sunderland born wide player has made 26 league appearances for the Etihad Stadium outfit this season, 16 of them coming from the subs bench.
