Austin promise to Turf Moor faithful

Burnley forward, Charlie Austin, says the clubs fans will see the best of him next season, when he aims to 'really push on.'

Austin, 22, who scored a hat-trick in the 5-1 win at strugglers Portsmouth on Saturday, believes that the 2012/13 season is his time to shine.

Speaking to The Lancashire Evening Telegraph he said: 'I don't see why you won't see the best of me next season, this is my first full year in the Championship and hopefully I can really push on next season.

'There are some fantastic players at the club, so when I got the chance I came on and worked hard.

'I've learned a lot, worked hard and done what I can - I've got 14 (goals) now, and if I can get any more it's a bonus.

'But I'll take my performances so far this season, some have been below par, but you're not going to perform every game.'

The Englishman was Burnley boss, Eddie Howe's, first signing and has made 26 appearances this term.
