      Deeney extends Vicarage Road stay

Troy Deeney will remain with Watford until at least 2013 after the Championship side exercised the option of a 1 year contract extension.

The former Walsall player's contract was meant to expire this summer, but a run of 5 goals in 10 games could have been what led to manager Sean Dyche triggering the year extension.

It was a disappointing opening campaign for in Hertfordshire for Deeney, scoring just 3 goals in 40 appearances but he has rose to prominence since Marvin Sordell departed for Bolton Wanderers in January.

Hornets fans will be hoping that more clubs will leave Vicarage Road after a sting in the tail, similar to the one that Ipswich Town experienced on Saturday.
