Mertens not looking to Liverpool

Kenny Dalglish’s transfer headache could be set to continue this summer with early indications and reports suggesting Dries Mertens isn’t open to a move to Liverpool.
Dalglish has endured a hard time of late with the Merseysider’s league form suffering and the Scot is probably hoping this summer can provide him with the perfect cure for some of the questionable signings made last year.
Mertens, who Dalglish is said to be a long term admirer of and views as the perfect replacement for out of favour Dirk Kuyt could keep that headache ticking right over into the summer after he has allegedly looking to Germany as the place where his future lies.
The Sun reported a source close to the player said: "He has been asking his friends about life in Germany and he has been encouraged by what he has heard."
Dutchman Mertens who is in superb form for PSV Eindhoven and at 24 years of age is valued at just £7.5m a cut price in comparison to the likes of Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson who Liverpool spent over £70m on.
The Anfield outfit have had an indifferent season by winning the league cup in February but yet sitting a lowly seventh in the league and are trailing Newcastle by an incredible eight points.
