      Vintage Cureton joins Grecians

A bit of nice news for Exeter on this calm Thursday eve as they learn that Jamie Cureton, who has seemingly been around the block more times than an over-worked milkman, has joined them on loan until the end of the season.

The 36 year old striker netted 20 goals in his one year spell at St James’ Park last season, before bagging up the Supporter’s and fans’ player of the year awards and trotting off to join Leyton Orient in the summer, after declining a new deal from the Grecians.

He has since struggled at the Matchroom Stadium, only making ten starts from which he has scored only a single goal. Exeter have seized their chance and have jumped in and rescue the striker, who promises an ice-cream sundae of experience sprinkled with a touch of familiarity, but have needed the generosity of their kind sponsors Follett Scott to fork out for Cureton’s wages, in a unique move.

"Jamie's not featuring in their team at present and a few things seemed to fit in place," said Exeter manager Paul Tisdale in an interview with BBC Radio Devon. "We agreed it today with Leyton Orient and we're very pleased that he's going to spend the remainder of the season with us,"

This will be Cureton’s thirteenth career move as he has embarks on more clubs than Tiger Woods, and with a back-log which includes Norwich, Swindon, Shrewsbury, Bristol Rovers, Colchester, QPR **gasp**, Barnsley, Busan I’cons as well as many more, there are very few players more deserving of that cliché.

Paul Tisdale will be hoping for a bit of de ja vu in that Cureton can repeat his magic twenty goal scoring touch of last season in order to help his side pull away from the relegation spots, suspended like a tightrope walker over the drop zone by a solitary point.

"Most players in the squad, if not all of them, have played with him and know how he works” added Tisdale to his BBC Devon interview "He brings something to us which is different and that will continue to give me an extra variety that we've not had,".
