German on brink of Gunners move

Robin Van Persie may finally have a goal-scoring partner, with Lukas Podolski set to move to North London.

The Cologne striker is believed to be happy with the terms on offer at Arsenal with the small matter of a transfer fee being the only thing left to do, something that may take a while considering the Gunners are hoping to pay £8 million whereas the Bundesliga side value him at £15 million.

Polish-born Podolski is in his second spell with Koln after a less than successful three year stint with Bayern Munich.

Despite only being 26 years of age, he has made almost 100 appearances for his national team, scoring 43 goals in the process, a stat that will be music to ears of Arsenal supporters, who now have Theo Walcott as their club's second top scorer with a poltry 5 league goals compared to RVP's 23.

The tide may finally be turning in North London, after Wenger's men recorded their magnificent comeback victory over Spurs at the weekend coupled with this potential signing.

A deal is not yet signed however, and many a Gooner will know not to count those little chickens before they have well and truly hatched.
