Are Swansea set for spending spree

Michael Laudrup has revealed that his scouting team will be sent out to find him a trio of new players.

If someone had told me a few years ago that Swansea City would one day be 7th in the Premier League and owned the league’s joint top scorer, I would have probably dropped to my knees in hysterics.

Michu, a 26-year-old striker snapped up for £2m from Rayo Vallecano, has already bagged 10 league goals in his 15 appearances plus another in the League Cup, and his fine form is drawing the attention of the major contenders in Europe.

Don't panic though Swans, there is no need to worry as Huw Jenkins (the chairman) has confirmed that the Laudrup will have the funds to strengthen the squad in January and there is no chance of their star players being flogged for big bucks.

The Welshmen want to enhance the spine of their team in an attempt to achieve a top 10 finish when the season comes to an end next summer which is, at the moment, looking like a reality.

The days of Swansea City signing the likes of Kevin McLeod on a free transfer from Queens Park Rangers are now firmly long gone.
