Benitez could be offered permanent Chelsea deal

Roman Abramovic is set to open himself for a tirade of abuse from the Chelsea fans as he is ready to offer Rafa Benitez a permanent deal as Blues' boss, according to the Sun.
Come on Chelsea fans, he's not a bad choice really, is he?
The podgy Spaniard has won 6 of his 7 games in charge and appears to have revitalised a somewhat depleted Fernando Torres, something which will have pleased the hierarchy more than anything, and that's a fact. The former Liverpool striker netted 7 times during December and he has the chance to increase that total when he and his team mates travel to Everton for Sunday's early kick off.
Sure, calls for Pep Guardiola are going to be heard from the Chelsea fans as their choice of gaffer or perhaps even a return for the special one when this season comes to an end, but, in my humble opinion, the current champions of Europe could do a lot worse than Rafa Benitez.
And yes the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo was unjust after everything he has achieved for the club, but what is done is done and surely now is the time to get behind Rafa, no?
Manchester United are pulling away at the top of the table and the leaders at Christmas are often those who go onto lift the trophy, however with the likes of Torres and Juan Mata finding their form, write Chelsea off at your peril.
