    United close in on striker

So it seems to finally be happening, Robert Lewandowski is on the verge of completing his switch to Manchester United in a deal worth £18m.

The 24-year-old is ready for life in Manchester as the Red Devils prepare a lengthy 5-year contract worth an estimated £80,000 per week for his services and a generous range of bonuses.

But if the Poland international does finally make the move, where does he fit within the Manchester United firepower?

Does this mean the little pea's hopes and dreams to become a regular in the first team will become a little bit mushy? Does it mean Wayne Rooney will be out on his ear and find another club to finance the treatment for his laughable barnet? What will happen to Danny Welbeck? Will his career come to a halt because of lack of playing time or will he stay and accept that he is bottom of the pecking order in Fergie's long list of choices?

It is a hard one to figure out as the attacking berths at Old Trafford are the strongest in their ranks. You would have thought 48 league goals in 19 games would be enough to please the gaffer and use the funds to sign someone to replace the shoddy Jonny Evans and the ever-aging Rio Ferdinand at the back and not just rely on the crocked Nemanja Vidic to come into the team and expect a miracle.
