Manchester City unlikely to buy in January

Manchester City assistant manager David Platt has revealed that he would not be surprised if the club failed to make a single signing in the January transfer window.
As if things weren't tough enough for Roberto Mancini's men, they will be without both Kolo and Yaya Toure for up to 5 league games when the African Cup of Nations commences next month and now they sound like they have produced the white flag and rapidly starting waving it regarding the transfer window.
David Platt, no relation to Gail, admits that it will be tough to sign players who are able to strengthen the side because of the reluctance of managers to sell their best players mid-season.
Adam Johnson famously signed for the Citizens back in Jauary 2010 and was followed by Edin Dzeko the year after, but despite these two big money signings Mancini has been known to be rather limp in this particular window.
Ooh err!
Hands up who else hates the January transfer window?
If you are a fan of a smaller club, like myself, you will know it is just an excuse for the larger teams to unsettle the talent at your club and effectively ruin the form of the individual. Wait until the summer you greedy gits!
