Chelsea youngster wanted by Manchester City

Chelsea youngster Islam Feruz could well be on the move after all as his agent has explained that he has been in contact with a number of Premier League clubs, all of whom are eager to sign the 17-year-old.

According to Sky Sports, the teen is desperate to stay at Stamford Bridge and make a name for himself as a Blues' player and worm his way in-and-around Rafa Benitez's first team, despite his representative Rui Alves admitting that the west London club may not been so keen.

The Somalian-born prospect applied his trade in the youth set-up with Celtic but was quick to reject a contract from the SPL giants in order to accept a deal with Chelsea, something that seems to be doing him no harm at all as he is now in hot demand.

The club that are rumoured to be in pole position if Chelsea decide not to keep the player are fellow Champions League-absentees Manchester City, who currently seem to be interested in anyone with a pulse, but Brendan Rodgers has also made room in his nest of fledglings in case Feruz wants to join them.

Although his name may not be particularly challenging for people with an average IQ to pronounce, Paul Merson will be praying that Islam Feruz never makes it onto the vidiprinter at Sky Sports News.
