Does Frank’s future lie somewhere across the Atlantic?

Chelsea stalwart Frank Lampard is in contention to making his 500th start for the club this weekend, but the 34 year old isn’t holding his breath as he has only started a handful of matches this season so far.
Lampard was the captain on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup match, but with the return of the league this weekend for the Blues the likes of Ramires and Mikel may just come back in to fill in the deep midfield roles.
Lampard has accepted his Chelsea days may be over at the end of this season and rumour has occurred that he may be the replacement for David Beckham at LA Galaxy.
At first Lampard wanted to stay in the Premiership and a possible link with his uncle at QPR was on the cards but as their status in the top division is still well undecided he may take the route of becoming the ‘designated player’ at Galaxy meaning he won’t have a salary cap at the club, a similar ruling that Beckham had whilst he played in America.
The Chelsea number 8 is still a fans favourite at the club but his ageing has forced him to drop out of the favourites list of the managers and owner of the club as he won’t be offered a new contract at the end of the season when his current one runs out.
