Will they get their man this time?

He was a summer target for Newcastle and in the end they did get their man and yet again as the January window looms Mathieu Debuchy is a reported transfer target for the Geordies once again.

Debuchy was disappointed not to see his move to Newcastle happen. So he won’t be ruling a potential move this January to the North East, but in reality the Frenchmen can’t see himself moving halfway through the season to a new club.

Although Debuchy isn’t a fan of the winter transfer window and so he may stay in French at Lille until the summer and then maybe he may try again to come to England. But anything is possible in football and if the right offer comes in Debuchy may have to go against his thoughts and move half way through a season into a new country.

There is no doubt Debuchy has been focused at Lille and that is why the speculation has returned as the French international right back has been in good form for his French league side.

When Debuchy met with his officials last summer he stated that there were things he was happy with and things that he wasn’t happy about.
