Remy keen on Newcastle move

Its hard to say whether this is good or Ba news for Newcastle fans but Sky Sports News are reporting that Loic Remy would welcome a move to the North East. Whilst Remy would not doubt be a strong addition and add much needed depth to the Magpies attack there is a worry that a move for the Frenchman would be the result of leading scorer Ba being sold.
It's difficult to even imagine where Newcastle would be without Ba this season given that he has contributed well over 50% of their league goals, yet despite this superb effort from the Senegalese they still sit alarming just a few points clear of safety. So with this in mind its easy to see why Geordies will be so concerned over his possible exit.
There is no doubting that Remy is a significant talent; his scoring record with Marseille speaks for itself whislt he has not been tracked for a number of years by several Premier League clubs for nothing. The concern will be that he would be required to adapt extremely quickly to Premiership life and instantly takeover Ba's goal scoring form, given that Newcastle are not in a league position to be affording players the luxury this looks a highly worrying prospect. There are a number of French speaking players at St James who would aid his transition, however making a swift impressive is never straightforward for a striker, particularly one who has potentially huge boots to fill.
Nevertheless though Newcastle fans should at least be thankful that there is some form of back up plan, given that the last time they sold their star marksmen in January they gave themselves around 10 minutes to find a replacement. A further positive is how keen Remy does sound about a move to St James, however given the choice of keeping the consistent Ba or taking an untested but talented Premier League novice you would think most would rather hang on to the Senegalese for at least another six months.
