Has Mancini won the fight for Isco?

The Express has said that Manchester City are emerging as the front-runners to land Isco. The 20-year-old Spaniard looks like being a name we are going to hear plenty more of, especially during the upcoming transfer window.

Apparently Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are engaged in a three-way scrap over the talented Spanish attacking midfielder and it is believed that Roberto Mancini, master of the head-lock, has beaten the other managers to him. Mancini who, as ever, is looking to strengthen his squad will be particularly keen to find some more numbers in midfield as Yaya Toure heads off to South Africa in the new year for a bit of sun and to participate in the African Cup of Nations.

It was thought that Isco would be available for offers in the region of £17 million but Malaga are set to significantly increase their asking price in a bid to ward off other clubs. I think that when Manchester City's owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al Nahyan looks down the sofa he finds loose change totaling several tens of millions of pounds so I'm sure the price hike won't put him off. With Toure doing a bunk soon, Nasri not firing and City being six points behind their neighbours this one could have some mileage.

They can't just up the price lmao, it's a 17m release clause, to up the price they need to resign Isco and that probably won't be possible when the release clause will be triggered at the start of the transfer window
