Blackburn ace the man for Saints

Southampton are preparing to revive their interest in Blackburn defender Scott Dann according to the Daily Mail.
Despite not seeing any of Dann's impressive early form at Birmingham for quite some time, not to mention the embarrassment of successive relegations, the 25-year-old is still apparently valued at £6m by Rovers. Unsurprisingly Saints boss Nigel Adkins was put off by this initial demand but is prepared to renew inquiries, sending scouts out with instructions to keep a close eye on the Rovers man with a view to a January move.
Although the Saints defence has improved drastically during recent weeks they have still conceded a league high 32 goals and apparently Dann is the man to shore up the shaky back line. Having seen some of his performances at the back end of Birmingham's 2010/11 season and his disastrous first season with Blackburn which also ended in relegation I would be a little concerned that a move to the south coast could end up in an unfortunate hat-trick of finishes within the bottom three. If however Dann can strike up a partnership similar to that which he had with Roger Johnson at Birmingham, which won the two so many plaudits, with either Maya Yoshida or Jose Fonte then he could be just the man to help Adkins' men beat the drop.
