Wenger in the hunt for Aspas

Iago Aspas could be about to secure a move to the Premier League according to the Daily Express.  Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been having a close look at the young Spanish attacking midfielder.

The 25-year-old has scored 6 goals in 15 games in La Liga this season and Wenger could be about to take a leaf out of Michael Laudrup's book as he looks to Spain to boost his squad.  Aspas has an £8 million buyout clause in his contract with Celta de Vigo and given the pools of gold that are hidden within the Emirates Stadium somewhere, Wenger could be the man to trigger it.  Wenger has been relying heavily upon his Spanish imports this season with Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta proving increasingly important to the Gunners and he could be about to add another Spaniard to his books.

The Celta chairman has been attempting to keep Aspas away from prying eyes.  With Aspas in fine form and Celta in fifteenth position in the league with only five wins this season, it's not hard to see why he wants him to stay.

Could Iago be the answer to Wenger's prayers or will he turn out to be a two-faced villain who is Moor trouble than he's worth?
