For Scottish football the future is bright, the future is orange haired

Alex McLeish has ruled himself out of the running for the Scotland job and has tipped Gordon Strachan according to the Telegraph.

"Gordon looks a pretty good choice to me.'' said McLeish. ''He's had great success at club level with Celtic. Whether he wants to come away from his TV role, because he's very good at that, is a big decision for him to make.''

Gordon Strachan, a man who bleeds Irn-Bru, would be an outstanding choice in my opinion and clearly Alex McLeish thinks so too.

Scotland are currently bottom of Group A and with Belgium and Croatia in their group even Strachan's powers of motivation might not be enough to get them to Rio in 2014 but it may be enough to halt their slide and build for the future.  So for Scotland fans, the future's bright, the future's orange haired.

But a word of warning to my xenophobic, moaning countrymen.  The Scottish national team, in recent memory has always had a native Scot in charge and has had no success in International competition.  Take heed England fans....
