Jose is Plan A for McCarthy

Mick McCarthy is plotting a move for Oldham Athletic's Jose Baxter, according to The Sun.

Jose, a graduate of Everton's youth academy, has scored five goals in ten games for Oldham this season since being released by Everton in the summer.

Could he be the man to kick start Ipswich's season?  Well with Ipswich having scored only 11 goals in 14 games in the Championship thus far this season Baxter can't be much worse than their current crop.  Frankly a can of Baxters soup would do better.

The Bootle born attacking midfielder, an undoubtable talent, never fulfilled his potential at Everton but after starting well in League One perhaps a step down the leagues was the answer.  If he secures a move to the Championship will he have found his level?  As a fan of his and a fan of people with fire extinguishing related puns in their names, I hope so.
