    Coyle wants Scotland job

What do you get when you cross a Championship reject and an accent that resembles William Wallace? The new Scotland manager, apparently…

Knock Knock.. Who’s there? My name is Owen Coyle, I am hated across the span of Lancashire for abandoning the team I got promoted, Burnley, to join their fierce rivals, Bolton, before getting them relegated and had them performing at such a poor standard even in the Championship, I got the sack. I am here about the vacant manager’s position of Scotland.

Enough of the jokes, but surely the whole charade is just that, a joke.

Owen Coyle, who had a win percentage of just 33% from his 2 and a half year stint at Bolton Wanderers, thinks he is up for the task of building his national side to a reasonable standard are get them winning games, something which the Scots haven’t seen on a regular basis since Walter Smith was in charge.

Perhaps it is because I am not Scottish, perhaps it is because I am looking at it from the outside, but why on earth would the Scottish FA even consider a manager with next to little success? Because he is the cheap option? Because he is Scottish? You may as well throw Andy Gray’s name into the hat... *shudder*
