£100m Paris heist for Cristiano

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to make Cristiano Ronaldo the most expensive play in history – for the second time – with an enormous £100m bid for the Portuguese star, according to the Daily Mail.
The money-machine Paris based club is desperate to use its Quatar invested deep pockets to compete with the superpower clubs of the world, such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.
Plying one’s trade in Ligue 1 is a natural advantage, but money can indeed pack a very powerful punch, especially when it’s in the form of one hundred million pounds.
Though reports have leaked of Ronaldo’s apparent discontent with certain aspects of life at Madrid this season, sources related to the speculation with PSG are sketchy at best – namely, some French bloke saw a text from Ronaldo to a Spanish journalist expressing his preference to sign with PSG rather than a new deal with Madrid.
Call me a cynic, but that all sounds rather unbelievable. Surely Ronaldo’s highly paid agent takes care of all the media correspondence; even then it seems unlikely that either Ronaldo or his agent would be silly enough to send such a text to a journalist.
Nonetheless, it’s certainly a tasty story. Reports are backed up with PSG’s willingness to bring Mourinho along to the party as well. A Ronaldo and Mourinho at PSG could well change the dynamics of European football.
