      Liverpool eye up Dortmund wideman

Brendan Rodgers' attempts to turn Liverpool into Dortmund's 2010-11 title winning side looks to have stepped up another notch.

After securing the loan signing of that team's playmaker Nuri Sahin on a one-year loan deal from Real Madrid, a transfer that currently has failed to fire too much due to Sahin's inability to even raise a smile as he contemplates the thought of a season on Merseyside, the Mirror are now reporting that the Reds are looking to secure the signature of wideman Kevin Grosskreutz.

Grosskreutz is much loved by the fanatical Dortmund faithful, who admire his work-rate and committment to the cause more than his quality on the ball, which can be lacking at times. However, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing currently plying their trade at Anfield that arguably is not a prerequisite, despite whatever Brendan Rodgers may say.

Indeed, with the German's contract now having two years left to run, it is believed he may be eyeing up a move to the Premier League and Anfield in particular. Liverpool fans will at least hope he can have more of an impact than Shinji Kagawa has had at Manchester United so far.
