City keen on Croat 'next big thing'

Being dubbed the 'next big thing' probably isn't very much fun as pride always comes before a fall and the fall from the top is pretty much the worst place to fall from; literally and metaphorically.
One player currently being touted as the 'next big thing' is 16-year-old Croatian Alen Halilovic who is probably the first player since Alan Shearer to be dubbed a next big thing with the hinderance of a rather underwhelming first name.
The Daily Mirror are reporting that Manchester City are highly interested in the young Croat, so much so they want to splurge £7million on him which is approximately £6,999,999.50 more than I was worth at his age.
The paper reports that City sent a delegation to his club Dinamo Zagreb this week to land the attacking midfielder who looks like a slightly less pointy faced Luka Modric.
Dinamo want a big fee for the youngster with City keen to beat off their rivals to snap him up, hence the high transfer fee according to the Mirror.
