      Saints look to Scotland winger

According to Daily Mail, Matty Phillips is top of Southampton’s list to be drafted in during the January sales.

Blackpool must be wondering what they have to do to distract ‘Spekky Nige’ from propping his ugly head regarding their prized assets, as he has come back yet again with another offer.

However, this time he is making an offer that they can’t refuse.

Saints are willing to hurl £5.5m in the direction of Bloomfield Road for the winger’s services but it is unsure whether or not the youngster would be interested in joining a team that are dropping down the Premier League quicker than the board can write a catalogue of potential replacements for the gaffer.

Southampton may have a bit of competition however, as Swansea City are also preparing a bid.

Now, I’m not sure about you but if I had the choice between moving to the beautiful valleys of Wales, playing for a side that is swamped with a sexy style of football who also happen to be comfortably surviving in the topflight for their second year, or transport my family down to a dull City like Southampton and listen to the tedious and almost patronising compliments that Nigel Adkins continuously throws at people, then it would be no contest.
