    Bluebirds lap up a Canary

Malky Mackay has been bird watching and has found himself a solution to his defensive injuries, albeit on a short term basis.

Simon Lappin has been floating around for decades now but has fallen down the pecking order at Norwich in the last couple of years, so it would have been a no-brainer to swoop towards a month's worth of first-team football at Cardiff City.

The Scot has played just once this season, in a Capital One Cup game against Scunthorpe and although he bagged a beauty, he was never realistically in for a shout of having a run in the club’s league games.

The move to Cardiff could reignite that determination that he was once known for, that passion that he showcased whilst making himself a favourite at St Mirren. The move could be the kick up the backside that is needed to rekindle the love and the hunger to play on a regular basis and show the footballing world that he still has what it takes to play amongst the elite…

… Or he could play a handful of games in the Championship and return to the Norwich bench for the rest of the season…

I know what my money is on.
