Moyes told to get Real in offer for Russian wonderkid

David Moyes, Everton manager, has had an offer of £4.8 million for Russian wonderkid Denis Cheryshev turned down by Real Madrid according to marca.com.

The 21-year-old Russian winger has been turning out for Real Madrid's B team but has been impressing and is thought to be on the verge of a breakthrough into the senior side.  So highly prized by Jose Mourinho is the young Russian that he has been included in the squad for tonight's Champions League game with Manchester City.  It is this sudden rise that is thought to have scuppered Moyes' plans to take him to Merseyside.

Looking to deepen his squad and add creativity, Moyes will have to take his search elsewhere it seems.  Everton have a notoriously thin squad and this is currently being exposed with Kevin Mirallas, Victor Anichebe and Phil Neville injured, Darron Gibson on his way back from injury and Marouane Fellaini banned for this Saturday's visit of Norwich City to Goodison Park.  However the future is moderately bright with Everton's own wonderkid, Ross Barkley, impressive during a loan spell with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and several other youngsters waiting in the wings.  With numbers thin again I'm sure those youngsters will get their chance to shine and perhaps missing out one Cheryshev won't seem so bad.
