Liverpool in talks for Sturridge swoop

Daniel Sturridge looks like he could be set to finally get his move away from Chelsea.
The Mirror are reporting that Liverpool have opened negotiations with the European champions for the purchase of the (somehow) England international, who is currently out of favour at Stamford Bridge below the wonderfully in-form Fernando Torres of all people.
Could Sturridge be the man to solve Brendan Rodgers' striking problems? Certainly, he should prove an upgrade on Fabio Borini, Liverpool's major striking purchase so far this season.
One person may want to point out to Sturridge however that if he cannot get into the Chelsea team ahead of Fernando Torres, he of only one goal courtesy of his backside since the first week of October, just how will he expect to play in his preferred central-striking role ahead of currently the Premier League's top scorer, Luis Suarez.
Will Brendan Rodgers sacrifice his cherished "philosophy" and scrap his 4-3-3 system for a formation that incorporates two strikers?
Or will Sturridge just have to deal with the place on the bench? At least he'll be more likely to get on ahead of Stewart Downing or Jordan Henderson at this point in time.
How times have changed from the days Fernando Torres and Ryan Babel were paraded around Anfield.

This is just more paper talk from bored journalists with nothing better to do. Sturridge can't even get into the Chelsea team ahead of Torres who couldn't walk the ball into an empty net. I don't want Sturridge anywhere near Anfield, I want real established striker not a wannabe.
