Cahill hoping to boomerang back to Everton in loan move

Tim Cahill, New York Red Bulls' Australian midfielder is hoping to boomerang back to Everton on loan according to the Liverpool Echo. Cahill has said, "There is no shadow of a doubt, I am eager to come back."
With the Red Bulls being put out of the play-offs by DC United, the MLS season is over for the Austrailian and he is hoping to fill the break between seasons with a loan move back to the Premier League. However Cahill is aware that things might not be that straight forward, "Hopefully something can be done (with Everton). It would be nice but it is not down to me. I have to respect that sometimes the ship has sailed."
Cahill joined the New York Red Bulls in July this year for £1 million. Since arriving he has played 14 games, scoring once. Not exactly setting the pitch on fire stateside. Whereas the gap he left in the Everton midfield has been filled by the Belgian beanpole, Maroune Fellaini. This season Fellaini has been head, hair and shoulders ahead of most midfielders in the league. Cahill, the Blue Kangaroo, might find it difficult to hop back into the side at Goodison. However with David Moyes short of numbers in midfield and the club heading towards the busy festive period perhaps the move could be beneficial to both parties.
