The Alex boss Steve Davis is waiting for his boss to offer him a longer contract, according to the official site.

Now, correct me if I am wrong, but if you’re John Bowler, the chairman, and the man you employed as the manager runs to Burnley at the first sniff of a vacancy, fails to get the job, then returns with his tail between his legs to your office asking for a longer contract, would you not feel slightly smug?

Of course not, they’re professionals…

Davis has told the press that he is waiting to hear the response after he tweaked a few details in the deal, but is confident that it will be resolved sooner rather than later.

There is no harm in listening to what other clubs are offering of course, especially if they are in a higher division, but if it has an effect on their current good form, then there will be some unhappy Railwaymen about.
