Sterling set to get his first senior England cap

Raheem Sterling’s season is set to get even better next month with a potential call up to the England senior team.

England’s next fixture could be an important date for Sterling as Roy Hodgson has hinted that he will look to use the friendly with Sweden to see how the young England players are doing. The England manager said that Sterling is one of the young players he will look at.

Sterling has had a breakthrough season at Liverpool as he has cemented his place as a first team regular at Anfield. He recently played for England under 21’s against Serbia in a Euro 2013 qualifier as well as scoring his first competitive match for the Reds against Reading at the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers had seen potential in young Sterling during pre season and took a chance in playing him in the league, since then it has been a case of playing him week in week out at Liverpool.
