Reina pushing for return in derby match

Liverpool’s first choice keeper Pepe Reina has return to training after being sidelined since return from the international break where he picked up a hamstring injury.

Reina managed a full training session with the rest of the squad at Melwood and could feature in a crucial derby fixture on Sunday at Goodison Park.

Liverpool’s reserve keeper Brad Jones has impressed in the two matches against Reading and Anzhi Makhachkala as he kept a clean sheet in both fixtures. So there is definitely competition for Reina to earn his place back which judging by the way the Spaniard train will not mind one bit.

Brendan Rodgers is pleased to see his first choice goalkeeper back in training and has said that they will monitor his progress in the next 24-48 hours before making a decision as to whether he will feature on Sunday.

On the other hand Rodger has been full of praise for Brad Jones as he feels the Australian keeper as done brilliantly in filling in during Reina’s absence.

Although Brad Jones has been instrumental for the Reds there will be no doubt that Liverpool will feel more confident by the fact that they have their main shot stopper back in the side.
