Shawcross is a wanted man

Reliable, good in the air, and isn’t afraid to put a tackle in. These are the traits Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross has that has made him a top transfer target.

Shawcross has showed he is improving each season as he recently achieved the ultimate for an English footballer… a call up to the national team.

His impressive performances have meant that several clubs are after the signature of the 25 year old who you would have thought still has many seasons left in him. Shawcross has built a great partnership with Robert Huth for the Potters and this is what has caught the eye.

Shawcross is in his last two years of his contract and so everyone at the Britannia Stadium will be getting twitchy and nervous in hope that he signs a new contract rather than signing for a new challenge.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham seem to be the main clubs who are interested in the defender. Obviously Stoke will fight to the death to keep their prized acquisition but when one of Premiership’s big boys come rolling into town Stoke may be fighting a losing battle.
