Genoa defender sparks Premier League interest

Manchester United and Chelsea are both keeping a close eye on Genoa’s young central defender Mario Sampirisi.  The 19-year old moved to Genoa from AC Milan in last year and has made some impressive performances in Serie A so far this season.

Sampirisi who has represented Italy at U19 and U20 level has impressed both the league leaders and last year’s runners up and both clubs are rumoured to be sending scouts to Genoa’s game against Roma on Sunday.

Mario Sampirisi could be a long-term relationship for John Terry or Rio Ferdinand and is currently valued at around £800,000.  Despite this small valuation, Genoa will undoubtedly ask for more if one of these Premier League giants makes a formal bid for him.
