      Chelsea look to the future as two more of the old guard head to the exit door

      The revolution looks set to continue at Chelsea with the Metro reporting that Roman Abramovich has all but decided to dispense with the long-term services of Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.

      With both players' contracts expiring at the end of the season, the decision has been taken to only offer the two one year extensions on their deals as part of the club's policy of pursuing younger, quicker players.

      That is said to have raised interest from Paris Saint-Germain and former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti for Cole's signature in particular. It has to be said that even if Cole were to be given the two year contract he expires, why on earth would he turn down a move to Paris and the Champs Elysee? At least there, no one will have heard of his ex-wife Cheryl...
