Who are Spurs interested in now?

Harry Redknapp has done a fantastic job at Tottenham since his arrival. He is also renowned for his ability to get a bargain in the transfer window, an example would be Rafael Van Der Vaart who signed for spurs for £8M and William Gallas who arrived on a free.

Tottenham have recently been linked with Brazilian international Ganso, who has reportedly interested a host of other premier league teams including Manchester United. It had been reported that Tottenham had put in a £15M bid in for the samba star, despite the fact that manager Harry Redknapp admitting that he has never heard of him.

At the moment I can see two reasonable explanations for this and one unreasonable explanation. The first reasonable explanation is that Spurs were never interested and Redknapp wanted to kill the rumour as quickly as he can and this is a pretty effective method of doing so, this is most likely. Or this could be part of an elaborate cover up to get the press off of the scent while he negotiates. My unreasonable explanation is that the Tottenham board have actually put a £15m bid in for a player that the gaffer has never heard of.

 Whatever the case is, it is a truly ridiculous story and I’ll leave it up to you to decide what you make of it.
