Rooney's days are numbered

Manchester City's proposed £60 million move for Wayne Rooney may not be as unrealistic as it appears.

For the past 18 months now, reports have been constantly emerging out of Old Trafford of a strained relationship between the Scouser and his manager.

Although theses rumours have time and time again been denied, there have been too many similar instances for there not to be some substance to the tales.

This then, can only mean one thing. The departue of the England international from The Red Devils.

History has proven that any player, regardless of how important they are to the team, heads for the exit door if they cross Sir Alex Ferguson-Jaap Stam, Cristiano Ronaldo, Roy Keane, Ruud van Nistlerooy, Dwight Yorke. The list could go on and on.

Rooney is of a similar stature to these former United greats, and coupled with the 26 year-old's insistence that the club need to purchase world class stars, do not be surprised if he is wearing a Sky Blue shirt come August this year.
