The 5 players to replace Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney is a silly boy isn’t he? If he isn’t elbowing Wigan players or screaming ‘what? F##king what?’ down the camera, he’s instead kicking Montenegrin internationals in random fits of rage. The three-match ban was justified; you can’t go randomly lashing out at a fellow professional with our without intent. It the end, England managed to get the result they required to qualify as group winners but his actions were in-excusable.

    Can England win without Wazza

With Wayne Rooney now banned for the group stages of the European Championships next summer, do England still have enough about them to have a chance of winning the competition?

Hothead Rooney still our hottest player

There is no doubt that Wayne Rooney’s actions last Friday were reckless and once again he showed signs of his uncontrollable bursts of madness. Never the less, any talk of not taking the Manchester United striker to next summer’s Euro 2012 needs to be stopped straight away.

Liverpool on top despite the Result

So, what can I say? Same old Liverpool, failed to capitalize on arguably their best performance of the season against a spirited if lackluster Manchester United side. I don’t think many people would disagree that Liverpool played United off the park on Saturday. Out-fought them and out-thought them.

England are there - but who gets the nod

While it was easy to forget following the somewhat disappointing turn of events, England’s turbulent 2-2 draw against Montenegro in Podgorica on Friday night did secure their place in Poland and Ukraine for the 2012 European Championships. Everyone is considered and available for selection, the only exception being a certain temperamental Manchester United frontman.

    Titans renew hostilities

Kenny Dalglish and Sir Alex Ferguson are set to renew their rivalry this Saturday when Liverpool welcome old foes Manchester United to Anfield in what is expected to be Reds captain Steven Gerrard’s first start of the season after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a groin injury.

    With or without Roo

So Wayne Rooney is set to miss out on another European Championships after his foolish kick in the trip to Macedonia earned him a straight red card on the night, and more importantly a three-match ban for next summer.

Should Mello Capello Leave Out Looney Rooney?

So a slight detour from everything Manchester City but I am amazed by the news coming out of the media regarding Wayne Rooneys ban. After what was a stupid lash out in Englands last qualifying game Mr Rooney has been handed a three match ban, which will see him out of the Euro group stage. That is if Mr Capello takes him, which I have no doubt he will.

England are just one point away from qualification for the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine. But that precious point will be tough to obtain against a resilient Montenegro side.

England looking strong going onwards from Montenegro

With the usual chaos and controversy of the Premier League suspended for a weekend, England travel to Montenegro for the culmination of their group G campaign seeking a solitary point to take them into next year’s European Championships.

    Testing Times for United...

A lot has been said about Manchester United and their “new” look this season, some going as far as to say they might just walk their way to the title with consummate ease, others believe more realistically, that such assumptions are of course a bit premature.
