No Champions League, No Suarez: Why Liverpool Star Should Leave Anfield If They Miss Out On Top 4

Luis Suarez is in the form of his life right now. He is the Premier League’s top scorer and Liverpool sit second in the league, but if they fall away again and miss out on a top four finish, then, in my eyes, he must leave the club.

Suarez has come out to ease the fears of Liverpool fans, though, saying that if their side miss out on Champions League football once again, their talismanic forward won’t seek greener pastures.

He wanted to stress that even though Champions League football is an obvious target, he is enjoying his life and football on Merseyside.

Although Liverpool recently tied Suarez down to a long-term contract, which will keep him at Anfield until 2017, that is seen as a positive step but it also has a flip side.

Deep down some cynical fans must be thinking that inserting a £70 million release clause in his new contract is an insurance policy just in case Liverpool don’t make top four. That way when the big spenders like Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain come along in the summer the Reds can demand a ridiculous fee.

I understand in this moment Suarez is loving his football, free flowing and free scoring but if there’s no Champions League on the table it will be very difficult for him.

Especially considering there are rumours that La Liga leaders Real Madrid are looking to bring in a Galatico striker next season, with Morata linked with an exit.

The last ten games are make or break for Brendan Rodgers’ side and, for me, may well decide the future of Suarez as well.
