Manchester United Set To Miss Out On Former Arsenal Midfielder With 92% Pass Success - Here's Why Red Devils Should Be Frustrated

Alex Song is a player who many will know from his time at Arsenal. The defensive midfielder spent seven years on the books of the Gunners before leaving for Barcelona, but he has been linked back to the Premier League a couple of times. Manchester United were said to have been interested, but the same reports now suggest he will sign for Serie A outfit Inter.

Cheer up United fans, it's not like they stole your captain on a free, is it? Oh.

Song is a player who you know what you are going to get from. He is not one for fancy tricks or flicks; he will simply break up the attacks of opponents and keep the ball moving in the centre of the pitch.

This season he has managed just 10 starts in La Liga this season but has racked up a pass success of 92%, which by any standards is pretty impressive.

He also averages 2.1 tackles per game, which is the same as Michael Carrick, and has also made 26 interceptions.

Without meaning to rub it in, Song is a player who could have done wonders for David Moyes' men. He could have sat alongside Carrick and allowed Fellaini to push on, but it doesn't look like that will happen.

    Sorry, United fans.
