THREE Arsenal Players Who Should Be Dropped After Swansea Draw

Arsenal looked to have rescued three points last night as they came from behind against Swansea, but Mathieu Flamini's last minute own goal cost them the win. Overall the performance was not good enough, and one that has seen them written off as title contenders in my eyes. So taking that into consideration, here are three players who I think should be dropped after the 2-2 draw.

    1) Olivier Giroud

The France international looks burnt out. The price of playing almost every game for the Gunners this season has really taken its toll and apart from his close range finish in the 75th minute, he looked poor throughout.

His other three shots failed to hit the target and he was easily dispossessed five out of the six times he tried to take a player on. He did win his fair share of headers, to his credit, though his tendencies to drop in-field led to him falling out of the game for large parts.

Now that their chances of a title looks bleak, I think Yaya Sanogo should be thrown into the action.

    2) Tomas Rosicky

Rosicky is the type of player who you need to unlock a defence like Swansea's. He has every attribute required to spark attacks, but he struggled to force any change out of the Swansea backline.

He registered one off-target shot, misplaced his only two crosses of the game and he left me reeling from my seat in the south stand.

    3) Wojciech Szczesny

After conceding eight goals over a couple of days I think it is now time for the Polish shot-stopper to be given a rest. I feel he could have done better with Bony's goal and his passing was atrocious. Lukasz Fabianski was in fine form before he dropped back out of the side, but I'd like to see him back in.

I agree with Giroud being dropped for different reason to you. My opinion is that Giroud doesn't offer us much and hasn't for awhile. He drops back far to much for me, doesn't close down defenders, doesn't take his chances and lacks pace even over ten yards. I would rather have Chuba upfront instead of Sonago. Arteta would be the second player i would drop, I feel he slows the game down bit to much for my liking in the final third and plays backward far to much. i feel santi has failed to deliver this season for me especially on the left and i would drop him to. This season our weakness has been our flanks and specially the left side of defence. The ball over the top catch's us out all the time. My preferred lineup for Rest of the season would be:

    GK: Szczesny
    RB: Sagna
    CB: Mertz
    CB: Verm
    LB: Gibbs (For now)
    DCM: Flamini
    DCM: Kim K
RM: Gnabry/Hector/Jenkinson (i know Hector and Jenkinsonare both right backs but they have pace, can cross and stay out right and not cut in as much as we are doing now)
LM: Ox/ Pods/Nacho (At least with Nacho, you will have some one who will run the line. even better push Gibbs forward and Nacho at back)
    ACM: Rosicky/Santi
    FW: Pods, Chuba, or Sonago

Once we have the injured players fit, i would only make the following changes:

    KOS for Verm
    Ozil for Rosicky/Santi
Ramsey for either Kim K or Flamini

At least with this line up you will have pace in the final third yet have players who are willing to track back.

I totally disagree about TR7 - he has been our most consistent player yet again this season. Him and Gibbs were the only players to show some passion last night and we nearly always play better with TR7 in the team. I do not understand why you are calling for him to be dropped. Arteta was absolutely dreadful last night as he was at the weekend - his legs have gone and he needs to be dropped and then got rid of. He was one of my favourite players last season but he has fallen off a cliffe since Xmas. When he runs now he looks like he is running in quicksand, he cant even keep up with the ball when he is dribbling. I would not drop Szes either as I honestly feel he has had a good season - and there is more to come from him. I do believe a clear out in the summer is required though and if Sagna goes then we will have to sign 2 new right backs (Jenks is no where near good enough). In summer I would try and shift: Diaby, Arteta, Jenkinson, Vermaelen, Bendtner, Giroud. Each player needs to be replaced. We are in a mess and have been fooled by the first half of the season where we played all the games that we won last year and February and March where we played all the games we lost last year. Wenger obviously has to go now as he cannot inspire this team to perform anymore.

Giroud is not the type of striker a team like Arsenal need.He is not the type that can score a half chance and to be a big team you should have this type of player that can perform miracle at a very miserable game.
