Manchester United Star Says There Is More To Come From Mata - Here's How Moyes Can Achieve This

Juan Mata has not had the immediate impact at Old Trafford that was expected of him since his club-record move from Chelsea. His Spanish team-mate David Silva is correct in stating that the Red Devils are yet to bring the best out of the 25-year-old playmaker.

David Moyes is yet to find the dynamic attacking formula which was the hallmark of great United sides gone by. It is always going to be difficult to accommodate the talents of Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Mata, but as has been demonstrated in the last two games there is a way to incorporate two of the three effectively.

Mata has been deployed on the wing in recent matches and it was only on Saturday in United’s 0-2 win that he and Rooney began to show promising signs of what an exciting partnership they could form.

Moyes needs to continue to play Mata just off of the main striker in a central role and allow him to roam and express himself. This means opponents will find him difficult to pick up and will also ensure that Rooney can thrive from the vision of the 25-year-old, as was evident on Saturday evening.

The attack of Manchester United has always been based on its fluidity and ability to interchange. It will be interesting to see what line-up Moyes goes with tonight in the Manchester derby. United have the personnel to make a difference in the final third, they just need to find the necessary balance.
