Real Madrid MUST Keep Hold Of Manchester United Target - Here's Why

Just as last summer the focus for Real Madrid was on getting Cristiano Ronaldo to sign a contract extension, this transfer window I believe it is Angel Di Maria who must stay.

Despite all the controversy in the 4-3 defeat to Barcelona in El Clasico, there was an Argentinian who really left their mark on that game. And I am not talking about Messi.

Angel Di Maria played like a man possessed, driving through midfield with ball and Barcelona just could not stop him as he set up both of Benzema’s first half goals.

It seems that Ancelotti’s decision to allow Mesut Ozil to depart and keep Di Maria was the right one. And converting him into a central-midfielder has proved to be a masterstroke.

The energy and speed that the Argentinian brings is unparalleled and with Xabi Alonso playing the deeper role, Di Maria has the freedom to push forward on attack.

Real cannot afford to let the 26-year-old leave, he is coming into his prime as a player and plenty of big spenders in Europe have taken notice of him this season.

The French duo of Paris Saint Germain and Monaco are but two of the host of top clubs following Di Maria’s situation at Madrid very closely. Manchester United have also been linked with the Argentine.

However, I think a manager with the experience of Ancelotti will recognise the contribution of Di Maria and will not let him go anywhere this summer except for the World Cup.
