THREE Reasons Why Chelsea MUST Not Sell £25m-Rated Star To Tottenham

According to the Telegraph, Tottenham have put Romelu Lukaku top of their summer transfer list. They say that the striker, who is on loan at Everton, is rated at £25million, but here are three reasons why Chelsea must not sell the forward to their London rivals.

    1) Current crop

Fernando Torres is never going to light up the Premier League. Yes he was impressive when he was at Liverpool, but even then his scoring record wasn't anything incredible. He has been woeful at Chelsea and in my eyes needs to be offloaded in the summer.

Demba Ba is also poor, and is another one who I would show the exit when the season ends.

Samuel Eto'o is a player I would probably keep, but you need a couple of options if you want to challenge in all competitions and I think Lukaku would provide that.

    2) Potential

Lukaku has shown just what he can do in his loan spells. The big Belgian scored 17 league goals while at West Brom and has 11 this season, as well as five assists. He is still only 20, too.

For me he is the future of the Chelsea frontline. He has the sheer power, the composure and is unselfish. He has the physical presence of a Drogba-type player but the finishing of Ruud van Nistlerooy.

He is only going to get better.

    3) Strengthening Spurs

Chelsea and Spurs have a bitter history, and to let Lukaku go and progress at White Hart Lane would kill the fans a little bit, I am sure. Also, if they were to sell him, I would suggest they flog him abroad, as that way he can't come back to haunt them directly, or by allowing Tottenham to finish higher up the table.
