Wenger Out: Why Arsenal Must Sack Frenchman To Move Forward

Arsene Wenger passed a milestone of 1000 games in charge of Arsenal Football Club this weekend but that is all he had to celebrate as his side were put to the sword in yet another calamitous display away at a title contender.

Wenger, who is still yet to put pen to paper on a new deal in north London, couldn't have had a worse day. Arsenal were 2-0 down inside 10 minutes and then reduced to 10 men just five minutes later.

The Gunners were second best from the get-go Chelsea eventually ran out 6-0 winners. Deja Vu started to set in, also. This was just a repeat of previous poor showings away at Manchester City and Liverpool earlier in the season and this all but ends their chance of Premier League silverware.

Arsene Wenger took full responsibility by trying to deflect from his players, but the set-up was all wrong. He pioneered a change in English football mentality when he took charge in 1996, but now his methods have become archaic.

It is clearly time for Wenger and Arsenal to amicably part ways. Wenger looks as jaded as his side did on Saturday and you wonder if he feels he has taken Arsenal as far as he can. It can not be a coincidence that Injuries are mounting and players look over-worked.

The training methods must have a huge baring on this. Arsenal have 1/3 more injuries than any other side in the Premier League - and the squad is thin enough with a fully fit roster.

Whenever there has been talk of wanting a regime change the same arguments are cast, but who can do a better job? Many can, in my eyes. Jurgen Klopp, Antonio Conte and Diego Simeone are all a similar mould to Wenger.

Arsenal need to look elsewhere a change is not always a bad thing, the club has become stale and only new management with a fresh approach will change that.
