Upgrade: Why Chelsea Swapping Torres For Striker With 30 Goals In 40 Games Would Be A Good Move

Liverpool's defence has been picked apart this season, while Manchester United's midfield has also been analysed negatively. And despite the fact that Chelsea sit top of the Premier League table, their need for a striker is evident.

Samuel Eto'o has stepped up to the mark at points this season and is now into double figures for the campaign, though is ageing quickly and is not able to lead the line for an entire season.

Demba Ba has been non-existent and Fernando Torres has again failed to shine at Stamford Bridge.

Reports suggest that Jose Mourinho is ready to use the Spaniard as a bargaining chip for Diego Costa, though, and I think they should do everything in their power to do so.

Costa is strong, aggressive and is a natural in front of goal. The Brazilian-born Spain international has now hit 30 goals this season in his 40 appearances, which is some return.

He is creative, he holds a physical presence and is a cut above the current crop at Chelsea and I think he would make them real contenders in every competition.

In my eyes the 25-year-old would drag the Londoners up to the next level.
