Liverpool Linked With Former Barcelona Striker - Would It Be A Good Move?

Reports have suggested that Liverpool have again sent scouts to Italy to monitor the progress of Lazio’s forward, Keita Balde Diao.  The 19-year-old Spanish sensation has appeared only a handful of times for the Serie A club this season, but scored four goals in six starts, with ten appearances coming off the bench.

A former Barcelona youth player, Keita Balde Diao was snapped up by Lazio for around £250,000 back in 2011, yet I believe it would be a great move for Liverpool who are looking to add to their squad for next season.  The only obstacle remaining for Liverpool is the 15 million euro tag slapped on the player by his agent, Ulisse Savini, claiming the player “would never find a club in Italy willing to pay that price”.

With many players in the Liverpool side who are still young and on the right side of 30, I believe Brendan Rodgers is taking the right route in trying to attract youth players with talent to potentially play with the likes of Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho and Sterling in years to come.

He has built his side around a young team who has the ability to play quick counter attacking football and Balde Diao would fit in well.  Strong and versatile, the Spaniard has the ability to play on the left side as well as up front as a second striker.  Watch the video to see more of what he’s about.
