Juventus Linked With Manchester City Pair - Where Would They Fit In?

Manchester City duo Gael Clichy and Aleksandar Kolarov have today been linked with summer moves to Serie A tabletoppers, Juventus, but would they fit into Antonio Conte's system and style of play?

Conte plays a 3-5-2 formation, with two wing backs pushing forward. Both City left-back's get high up the field often, especially with the narrow front four, however, neither of the two players are brilliant defender's, so a move to Italy and a new system could be a move for the better. Kolarov in particular has played in an advanced position on several occasions for City.

These rumours come after City were linked with Southampton youngster, Luke Shaw, whose defensive capabilities outweigh both Clichy and Kolarov.

Conte has played a 3-5-2 since he arrived in Turin and it has been more than successful, winning back to back league titles and competing in European competitions. The 4-2-3-1 formation is now used by most teams, but playing three at the back provides another man in midfield and with two strikers. Attacking is therefore easier, with more midfield support, which could also be provided by either wing back.

Left-back is certainly an area for concern for the blue half of Manchester, so offloading one of the two players would free up a place for Luke Shaw.
