Tottenham Linked With Real Madrid Ace - Here's Why They Need To Make A Move

Too many of Tottenham’s signings this season have failed to live up to expectations, and in particular it is the centre of the park where Spurs have fallen short. Despite having what appears on paper a wealth of riches to select from, Tim Sherwood is yet to find the perfect formula so far in his short tenure at the helm.

Only Christian Eriksen and Andros Townsend have shown world-class ability this season and even that has been in glimpses.

The White Hart Lane outfit are reportedly closely monitoring the situation of Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, and in my eyes the 26-year-old would be a superb acquisition for Tottenham.

The Argentine is playing week in week out with the best players in the world at the Bernabeu, and has shown he can play in a variety of positions across the midfield area. Tottenham do not have enough players who can step up to the plate against the big sides, as was shown in the recent 4-0 defeat to Chelsea.

Di Maria would bring big game experience and an unerring consistency that has bypassed the majority of signings made in the summer by Andre Villas-Boas.

Acquiring a player of this calibre would be a big statement of intent from a club who are destined not to be in the Champions League next season.

Di Maria would be loved by the fans just as much as their manager is loved by the players.

erm... Townsend.... word class? even in patches is a stretch - he's fast, he can run he has ZERO assists and only ONE goal (which was a cross).

Let me tell you where I am... I'm out!

For a couple of months or so Townsend was unplayable for both Spurs and England. He has faded badly since, much like Spurs. My point is he is no longer having a big influence on games.
