Liverpool Legend Says Neutrals Want Reds To Win The Premier League - Is He Right?

Liverpool are enjoying their best season since 2008-09, when they finished second to Man Utd in a riviting title race. But could the Reds go one better and be crowned Premier League champions for the first time? Only time will tell, but the signs are looking good, with a top four place all but secure.

Former red, Jan Molby claims that neutrals will want Liverpool to win the league, and I can see why that would be the case.

Their are plenty of negative views of Chelsea and Manchester City and the way they go about their transfer business, spending big money on a regular basis. Liverpool however, are not known for that and are a club with history and tradition have earned the right to be fighting for titles on a regular basis.

Many fan's seem to have been jealous of Man Utd's success over the last 20 years, so Molby's view does seem valid.

Liverpool have been superb all season long, playing an attractive style of football which has been entertaining to watch. The front two of Suarez and Sturridge have had impeccable seasons and with key fixtures to play at home, there is no reason why they can't win the title and neutrals may see that as a breath of fresh air, which would be correct, considering only five clubs have won in the 21 years of the Premier League.

Most neutrals have long memories. Liverpool and their supporters are not liked. They have history and have in the past brought the game into disrepute. No, Liverpool are the last club neutrals would like to see win the Premier League.
